Its main objective: To support vulnerable communities facing challenges through adapted and responsible financing.

The ICF was created on the initiative of Dr Cheikh Cissé, a geographer and urban planner specialising in the dynamics of urban production and sustainable territorial planning, particularly in the South. With the ICF, he is working to develop an innovative fund dedicated to financing adaptation projects run by the communities most exposed to the effects of climate change. At the same time, he teaches urban and economic issues in Paris. His commitment is based on an integrated vision of climate justice, territorial equity and the strengthening of local initiatives.

Individuals: you can benefit from a tax reduction equal to 75% of the amount of your donation, up to a limit of €1,000 per year. Beyond that, the reduction is 66% of the amount of the donation, up to a limit of 20% of your net taxable income, with the possibility of deducting the remainder from your taxable income.

Company: all payments to International Impact qualify for a corporation tax reduction of 60% of the amount of these payments, capped at €20,000 or 5 ‰ (5 per thousand) of the company’s annual turnover excluding tax. If the ceiling is exceeded, the excess can be carried forward to the next 5 financial years.

Presentation of the Impact for Climate Fund (ICF)

Impact for Climate Fund (ICF) is an innovative investment fund dedicated to financing local climate projects in developing countries, mainly in Africa. Its primary objective is to strengthen the resilience of the most vulnerable communities to climate change by mobilising financial and technical resources from companies, NGOs and committed individuals.

The project aims to:

– Finance local projects with a high environmental and social impact;
– Support adaptation to and mitigation of the effects of climate change;
– Integrate carbon credits into corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies;
– Create a fair and inclusive climate finance model.

 

Sectors of intervention

Sustainable agriculture: support for agro-ecological practices and food security;
Renewable energies: promoting green electrification solutions;
Ecological mobility: encouraging clean transport solutions;
Natural resource management: reforestation, preservation of ecosystems and combating desertification.

Funding model and governance

ICF is based on a participatory model where contributors (companies, institutions, individuals) become member-contributors and are recognised for their commitment to sustainable development.
Governance is based on three key principles
Transparency: rigorous monitoring of funds invested and communication of results;
Inclusion: involvement of local communities in the design and implementation of projects;
Measurable impact: using clear indicators to assess environmental and social benefits.

Expected impact

Qualitative: strengthening local capacities, improving living conditions, reducing climate vulnerability;
Quantitative: number of projects financed, hectares reforested, tonnes of CO2 avoided, number of beneficiaries affected.

ICF is an incubator within International Impact, a French NGO recognised as being in the public interest, which supports solidarity organisations and optimises their impact. This partnership will make it possible to :
Structure the fund’s development and refine its strategies;
Gain access to a network of experts and donors;
Strengthen its foothold in the climate finance ecosystem.
