Help social archaeology with Instituto Puneno
1 CONTEXT:
The Instituto Interdisciplinario Puneno (InIP) belongs to the National University of Catamarca and has been conducting research in Laguna Blanca, in the Puna Catamarqueña in Argentina, since 2002.
The Archaeological Project of the White Lagoon was born in 1992, with the first ethno-archaeological investigations in this region of the Puna de Catamarca. Archaeological research continued and activity diversified with the creation, in 1997, of the Integral Museum of the Laguna Blanca Biosphere Reserve.
InIP-UNCA is currently composed of about fifteen members, teacher-researchers, graduates and students, and carries out 10 participatory action research and local development projects.
2 OBJECTIVES:
Discover the riches of this region of Argentina in collaboration with the local community,
Manage/Enrich the territorial community and university museum,
Protect local culture through research and education.
3 OUR IMPACT:
This partnership with InIP led to the creation of the first archaeological mission proposed by International Impact. 3 civic services were subsequently recruited.
4 PROJECT TO SUPPORT:
The construction of the dining room / extension of the university residence is in progress.
