BACKGROUD AND CONTEXT
The Pierre et Marie Curie school was founded in 1997. It is approved by the Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger (AEFE). Approval has been granted by both the French and German authorities, so the curriculum taught is bilingual and complies with both official education systems.
The school is located in the town of Heidelberg, in the south-west of Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SCHOOL
Depending on the year, the school has between 180 and 200 pupils, from nursery to CM1.
The children are divided into :
♥ 5 nursery classes
♥ 5 elementary classes
From the age of 2, pupils at the school benefit from bilingual French-German teaching by teachers who are native speakers of both languages.
En fonction des années, l’école accueille entre 180 et 200 élèves, de la maternelle au CM1.
The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular sports and socio-cultural activities (rugby, football, swimming, music (guitar/violin), choir, chess, etc.).
The school also offers a nursery during the school holidays.
