Help children affected by AIDS with OSI
1. CONTEXT:
Orphans AIDS International (OSI) was created by Myriam Mercy, the current president of the association, who has been involved in the fight against AIDS since 1986.
OSI has been working for the past 19 years to provide support to affected children (death of parents) and children infected by HIV/AIDS, through various programs including sponsorship, medical and psychosocial support for children with HIV, so that each child can continue to grow and develop fully within his or her community.
1200 children have been sponsored since May 2000 in the regions most affected by the AIDS epidemic in Africa, India and Peru.
2. OUR IMPACT:
International Impact has just made it possible for OSI to provide a civic service. 2 other missions are proposed in Cameroon and Benin with OSI.
3. PROJECTS TO SUPPORT:
OSI currently has 2 main missions:
– To alert public opinion, through events to raise awareness of OSI’s actions (sponsorship programmes, improving the professional integration of young people in the active file of their partners, strengthening the skills of their partners).
– To mobilize the greatest number of donors and sponsors, by strengthening the skills and capacities of their local partners to take care of their children.
