(Français) Urgence Mayotte : Aidons les victimes du cyclone Chido

On Saturday, December 14, Cyclone Chido struck the archipelago of Mayotte with winds exceeding 220 km/h and torrential rains, causing massive destruction. The main hospital was severely damaged, entire informal settlements were wiped out, and numerous lives were lost. The residents of this French department are facing an unprecedented crisis.

We are launching this fundraising campaign to provide urgent aid to the people of Mayotte and help them rebuild their lives.

How will your donations be used?
Your donations will address urgent needs, such as the distribution of water, food, and essential goods. In the longer term, they will support sustainable projects, including the deployment of civic service volunteers to promote development and education on-site.

Who are the beneficiaries?
The collected funds will be directly allocated to actions on the ground. In case of a surplus, they may be used to finance initiatives aimed at combating climate change.

Meteorologist François Gourand, a forecaster at Météo France, highlights the exceptional nature of Cyclone Chido, which directly struck the archipelago. He notes that its intensity was amplified by unusually warm waters in the Indian Ocean, a direct consequence of climate change driven by human activity (source: Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)).

Our commitment to the climate
